It's not really a surprise and from how I see it non-paying clients are everywhere. But that doesn't I'm okay with it and I'll let it slide. With the current payment terms I have with my commission clients, it is to make sure that both me and the customer are assured that we get what we want: my payment, the customer's order. I am very thankful of all my clients who trusted me, took my services and payed me on time, some in advance and some with bonus. Thank you very much!
But working with good clients I also experience working with some awful clients. Meaning non-paying ones! Two of them in fact to date. The first one paid me for his first order and on the second one he just disappeared. I won't mention who he is as at the least he paid me for the first job. This second one was unforgivable! (
If you know this person, can you tell me anything about him?) Mind you I was really proud of how his commission turned out. It was a dakimura set and last Jan. 7 I finished this 2 piece order. And what did I find after inquiries asking for updates... that maybe he had problems and all so he couldn't pay as of the moment? He
DEACTIVATED his account,
NO REPLIES,
NO NOTHING! He
wasted my 3 days working on his pieces and
not even a simple explanation at the least! Of course I didn't give him the hi-res copies as low-res copies were only sent as proofs that the order is ready for delivery. So basically he didn't get any yet but he still wasted my time that I could have used working on other projects/orders.
So there! Business in hand....
To my Regular/Old Clients: Rest assured I remember all of you and the
terms of payment for you will
not change.
(lowres-payment-highres) As you have trusted me that I can deliver you the quality of work you expected of me, I trust you as much! Again thank you!
To New Clients: In the next week I'll be changing the payment terms to
Advance Payment after
Sketch Approval to
Process commission order to
Final Artwork then High-Res delivery to email indicated. No more low-res proofs. Also sketches will also be watermarked.
I'm sorry I have to resort to this. But I had enough of people stealing from me, may it be not paying me for the commission work I did, my artwork reposted as their own... like that. I try to be as nice as possible so please at least be considerate of my time and effort.
Thank you for understanding and have a great day.
